Let’s say you’ve followed our guide to building a strong employer brand (check out our earlier posts) and you’ve created an irresistible career page. How can you help your ideal candidates find you?
Here are a few actionable tips to amplify your message and attract top talent:
1. Be where your ideal candidates are. LinkedIn is a good place to start, but don’t stop there!
-Regularly post snippets, teasers, and highlights from your career page across your social media channels.
-Respond to comments, answer questions, and spark conversations about your technology and what you hope to accomplish.
-You could even consider running paid social media ads to reach specific demographics or skill sets within the climate tech community.
2. Let your team be your advocates.
-The personal endorsements of your employees carry significant weight. Encourage your employees to share your career page and job postings on their social networks.
-Make it as easy as possible for your team, and—if you have the resources—equip them with shareable content, graphics, and key talking points about your company culture and EVP.
3. Networking matters.
-Find and join groups relevant to your industry and mission.
-Attend climate tech conferences and meetups to connect with candidates in-person. Use a QR code that goes to your career page on signs and business cards.
-Participate in online forums, groups, and webinars relevant to your industry and technology. Give helpful insights and share opportunities at your company when appropriate – remember to lead with providing value.
4. Don’t forget accessibility and user experience.
-Ensure your career page is optimized for relevant keywords and search terms so it shows up in search engine results.
-Many candidates will access your career page on their phones, so make sure it’s easy to navigate and offers a great user experience on mobile devices.
Attracting the right talent is a marathon, not a sprint. Consistently promoting your career page and engaging with your target audience will help you build a strong employer brand and attract the climate changemakers you need.
